The University of Sulaimani, in cooperation with the German Justice Foundation, opened a course for 22 students, in which 6 students from the College of Nursing participated.
The University of Sulaimani recently completed a valuable course entitled “Critical Thinking and the Introduction of Scientific Work” in partnership with the German Justice Foundation. The course aimed to help students develop skills critical to their academic and professional lives, with 22 students participating.
In the presence of Dr. Sherwan Hama Saleh، Assistant of the President of the university for Student Affairs and Dr. Ala Barzinji، Director of the Center for Job Development at Sulaimani University، the participation certificate was distributed to the students.
Of these students, six were in the College of Nursing 3rd stage, demonstrating the continued efforts of our department’s students to improve critical thinking among future nurses to achieve the best patient service outcomes.
The course focused on two main areas: critical thinking and research methods.
In the first part, students were taught how to use critical thinking in different situations by Asst.L. Stam kamel , Director of the University’s Pedagogy Center. This skill is very important not only for education but also for informed decisions in health care.
The second part of the course discusses research methods. The students were taught by Dr. Aristo Nasser, the director of the university ranking, how to plan and conduct research and how to communicate their findings effectively. This information will be very important for future research projects.
Overall, the course was a huge success, providing students with valuable tools for their academic and career journeys.

Summer Nursing Training 2024 for student Helen – in Qaladze under
supervision of lecturer Dr.Mahabat Hassan Saeed
Helen participated in a one-month specialized Summer Nursing Training
starting July 1, 2024, in Qaladze City. The training was designed to
provide her with practical experience and deepen her nursing
knowledge, focusing on enhancing clinical skills and patient care
techniques. Helen engaged in hands-on activities, simulations, and real-
life scenarios under the guidance of experienced healthcare
professionals. This training exposed her to various nursing aspects,
including patient assessment, care planning, and emergency response. It
is an excellent opportunity for Helen to apply her academic knowledge,
build her professional network, and prepare for a successful nursing
career.

To oversee the final exams for postgraduate studies (including high diploma and master’s degree) and the first round of the second semester for bachelor’s degrees, the President of the University of Sulaimani inspected examination halls.
On June 3rd , 2024, Professor Dr. Kosar Mohammed Ali, President of the University of Sulaimani, accompanied by a figure of vice presidents visited the final examination halls of the first round of the second semester in college of Nursing.
During the visit, the President ensured that the exam preparations were in place to provide students with a conducive and peaceful environment for their exams.
The President of the University of Sulaimani commended the High Examinations Committee, supervisors, and teachers for facilitating a favorable environment for students during the exams and extended best wishes to the students for their success.

On 30/5/2024، with the supervision of the teachers of the nursing and mental health branch، a scientific trip was done for the fourth grade students
In the trip، each of the nursing colleges of Erbil University of Medicine and Erbil Psychiatric Hospital was visited، the aim of the visits was to introduce the students to universities and other hospitals in the region، as well as seeing different cases، receiving teachings، and treating mental patients properly.

Under the supervision of Professor Dr. Kosar Mohammed President of University of Sulaimani، the scientific exhibition was opened by the students of Nursing college in the old Campus of Sulaimani University.
On May 23, 2024 with the presence of Assistant Professor Dr. Zana Mahmoud, Vice President for scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies، and a number of lecturers، teachers and students، the opening ceremony of the scientific exhibition of students of the second stage of college of Nursing was held, the event was organized by Asst. Prof . Dr. Dilan Jamal Qadir، head of Fundamental of nursing department، and Dr. Tarza Jamal lecturer of pharmacology class، which included various posters and brochures. This activity was sponsored by Best Live Hospital.
Student Diyari Najmadin, participated in the exhibition by preparing a poster about the awareness of the community of anti-cancer drugs.
And another poster by Ahmad Nasreddin and Sarmand Arif showed that the treatments are necessary for mentally ill patients.
In this regard، Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Rashid Amin، Dean of Nursing college said: “This event is a scientific exhibition of the students of the second stage of the nursing college، in the collection of scientific posters and brochures، sponsored by The Best Life Hospital،” he said، adding: “The event has been done for the purpose of health and safety awareness about diabetes and medicine and identifying many worrying cases.”
Then Dr. Tarza Jamal، explained the aim of the exhibition is to raise awareness of two important issues، protecting the environment and presenting annual cancer data، especially lung cancer.
